Share your thoughts about developing an Indigenous stream of the Broadband Fund

We are seeking your comments on developing an Indigenous stream of the Broadband Fund. We launched the Broadband Fund to help connect rural, remote, and Indigenous communities across Canada to high-speed Internet and cellphone services. The Indigenous stream will aim to make it easier for Indigenous communities to get connected to these services through the Broadband Fund.
How to participate
There are a few ways you can participate. Please note that we will make all comments public. The deadline to participate is September 18, 2026 at 8 p.m. (Eastern time).

To submit a comment in an oral intervention video, you will need to provide a link to a publicly accessible video in the comments box of the intervention form.
You will have to agree to our privacy statement first.

- how to tailor the application process to better meet the needs of Indigenous applicants and encourage more participation
- how to structure the reporting requirements for Indigenous recipients (e.g., fewer reporting requirements, decrease frequency of reporting)
- what additional costs could be eligible for funding for Indigenous applicants to ensure project success
- how the CRTC can use different means of engagement that meet the unique needs of Indigenous applicants
