Procedure for ASL and LSQ Sign Language video submissions
The Commission invites Canadians who communicate using sign language, or persons representing their interests, to submit their interventions in ASL or LSQ in video format.
Parties filing in video format must provide a working link to a publicly viewable version of their video in the comments box in the “Submit an intervention” section of the Intervention form. The videos will be fully translated into text, and transcripts will be made available in English and French for ASL and LSQ videos. Links to videos will be made public when the transcripts become available. Interveners may choose to submit written transcripts with their videos to facilitate the process.
The information that parties provide to the Commission as part of this public process, including the transcripts of ASL or LSQ videos, is entered into an unsearchable database. This database is accessible only from the web page of this public process. As a result, a general search of the Commission’s website with the help of either its search engine or a third-party search engine will not provide access to the information that was provided as part of this public process. However, the ASL or LSQ video interventions or replies are submitted as a working link to a publicly viewable version, therefore these videos may be searchable by third party search engines depending on where the video was uploaded.
The Commission is launching this notice of consultation to gather views on the measures that telecommunications service providers should take to help improve the resiliency of telecommunications networks and the reliability of telecommunications services.
