5. Prepare your application documents
Before submitting your application for funding, you will need to gather and prepare the required documentation to support it. The documents you submit will be used to evaluate your eligibility and assess your project. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully to ensure your application is complete and properly formatted.

You must upload your documents in the Online Intake System. A preview of the forms you will need to complete can be found at Broadband Fund – Application Forms Preview.
Applicant details
You must provide documents in support of your application demonstrating:
- evidence of legal status as an eligible applicant type
- for an applicant group, a description of roles and responsibilities for the project
- financial solvency and reliability
- an applicant or each member of an applicant group, except for an applicant that is a provincial or territorial government, must provide independently prepared financial statements for the last two years
- experience deploying and operating broadband infrastructure in Canada for a minimum of 3 years
Project details
You must upload documents that provide specific details about your project, including, for example:
- all forms providing details of the proposed project according to the instructions provided
- for example, geographic details on project sites and route segments, and technical details on network improvement and funded equipment, such as the manufacturer, model, and estimated cost of such equipment
- the form identifying each community affected by the proposed project; the location of affected communities; whether affected communities are Indigenous communities or Official Language Minority Communities; and a brief description of engagement efforts
- evidence of community engagement in an acceptable format
- Logical Network Diagram (LND), clearly labeled and corresponding appropriately to the information in the Online Intake System. See Section 2.2.1(a) Assessment criterion – Technical merit in the Technical and Program Details Guide for more details on LND requirements.
- all mapping data for your project, including those created in Step 3, Geographic eligibility
- for any satellite-dependent community project, a copy of the satellite transport capacity contract or memorandum of understanding with the satellite transport provider
Financial details
You must provide the financial details of your proposed project and documents outlining the financial considerations of your project, including, for example:
- all forms providing the financial details of the proposed project according to the instructions provided:
- project cost estimates
- project funding and financing details
- project’s financial projections
- all other investment documents (for example, a financing document), including any relevant letters from a Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer/Treasurer, a financial institution, or a Council Resolution of budget allocations to support your commitment of the investment amount you are proposing
- for each source of funding that has been secured, a written declaration confirming the secured amount and detailing the extent of support that will be provided
