What the Commission is examining in this proceeding

The Commission is gathering views on the development and implementation of a regulatory policy to help improve the resiliency of telecommunications networks and the reliability of services (the resiliency regulatory policy). To do this, the Commission will consider the following issues:

  • Principles that should guide the development and implementation of the resiliency regulatory policy
  • Resiliency measures telecommunications service providers should consider when designing their networks
  • Resiliency measures telecommunications service providers should consider in their network operations
  • Improving the reliability of 9-1-1 and wireless public alerting services
  • Improving the reliability of accessibility services
  • Accessing telecommunications services during an emergency
  • Enforcing the resiliency regulatory policy

You are invited to comment on these issues and answer any of the more detailed questions in the notice. The next video will discuss only a subset of questions that may be of particular interest to you.
