On 9 May 2025, the Commission received procedural requests from the Canadian Association of Broadcasters and the Digital Media Association, with written support provided by Music Canada on 12 May 2025 and MLorrain conseils Inc. on 14 May 2025, to extend the revised reply deadline set out in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2025-52-2. The parties submitted that participating in overlapping broadcasting proceedings is causing capacity challenges and requested an extension to 16 June 2025 to allow parties sufficient time to participate in all proceedings.
While the reply deadline has already been extended in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2025-52-2, the Commission considers that an extension would support greater participation in all ongoing broadcasting proceedings. However, it also recognizes the need to advance the implementation of the regulatory plan to modernize the broadcasting framework in a timely manner.
The Commission therefore extends the deadline for the submission of replies set out in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2025-52-2 to 5 June 2025. The submission of replies is limited to parties that have submitted an intervention as part of this process. Parties that have already filed a reply can refile or update their replies.
