Description: On February 26, 2026 at 09:26 PT, a flatbed truck carrying two 400-barrel tanks that exceeded standard height clearances tore down TELUS and BC Hydro aerial infrastructure near Chetwynd, British Columbia. As a result, approximately # # TELUS customers lost access to Internet, Optik TV, wireless voice and data, wireline voice and emergency services. In the normal course, transport companies carrying these types of cargo are required to coordinate their activities with TELUS and other utility companies for line lifting or temporary infrastructure adjustment to avoid collisions with aerial infrastructure. However, TELUS was not engaged by the transporting company for coordination in advance of this incident.
