Subject: Northwestel Inc. Tariff Notice 1264 – Introduce Three New Speed Tiers in Type B Communities – Request for information – Extension Request
Dear Imran Khan:
This is in response to Northwestel Inc.’s (Northwestel) 19 March 2026 letter requesting an extension to the filing date for responses to Commission staff's request for information (RFI) related to Tariff Notice (TN) 1264, dated 11 March 2026.Footnote1 In that RFI, Commission staff requested detailed information related to the costing support filed for TN 1264. The process and associated dates were as follows:
- Commission staff requested that Northwestel submit its responses to the request for information no later than 1 April 2026.
- Parties could submit comments with respect to the responses to the request for information by 15 April 2026.
- Parties could file replies to the above-noted comments by 22 April 2026.
Northwestel submitted that Commission staff have requested a significant level of costing detail, and that due to the volume of information requested and analysis needed by Northwestel’s limited resources, Northwestel requested a two-week extension to Commission staff’s deadline.
Commission staff considers Northwestel’s extension request to be reasonable. As such, the process and associated dates are now as follows:
- Commission staff requests that Northwestel submit its responses to the request for information no later than 17 April 2026.
- Parties can submit comments with respect to the responses to the request for information by 1 May 2026.
- Parties may file replies to the above-noted comments by 8 May 2026.
