Subject: Request for Information – Bell Canada’s Part 1 application: Adapting the Regulatory Framework for Mobile Wireless Exchange Service – Request to Extend Deadlines
Dear recipients:
On 13 February 2026, the Commission received a request from Bell Canada (Bell) for an open-ended extension of the deadline to provide responses to Commission staff’s 27 January 2026 request for information (RFI). Bell states that the extension would allow it to develop a consultation process and consult with disability groups whose members rely on teletypewriter (TTY) relay-based message relay service.
While Commission staff considers that a request for additional time is reasonable, staff considers that a deadline is needed to provide clarity to respondents and avoid additional delays. Consequently, and with consideration of the scope of the consultation Bell is required to conduct, as well as the specific RFI questions Bell is to respond to, staff considers that an extension to the end of March 2026 is sufficient.
Accordingly, the deadlines for the above-noted RFI have been modified for all recipients as follows:
- The deadline to submit responses to the RFI: 31 March 2026
- The deadline to submit replies to RFI responses: 14 April 2026
Should Bell require a further extension, it may make an additional, appropriately justified, request, which will be considered at such time.
A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to this application’s public record.
