Subject: Application for urgent relief regarding Bell Canada’s degradation of its mandated wholesale FTTP service to TELUS
Dear Stephen Schmidt and Philippe Gauvin:
On 28 January 2026 Bell Canada filed an objection to the contents of TELUS’ reply with respect to interim relief in the above noted matter filed that same day. Bell requested the ability to file a rebuttal to the new facts submitted in that reply by 2:00 PM (EST) on 30 January 2026. Bell also asked that its deadline for Bell to file its answer to TELUS’ final relief request be extended until 5:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday, 4 February 2026 as a result.
TELUS objected to Bell’s request for additional process requesting that further process be rejected or that a decision be made before the additional process could conclude, on the understanding it could be adjusted in light of the new argument.
In order to allow the Commission to assess TELUS’ interim and final relief requests in a timely and effective manner, Commission staff sets the following revised timelines:
- Bell is required to submit its additional comments to TELUS’ interim relief reply comments (filed 28 Jan 2026) by 10:00 AM (EST) on Friday, 30 January 2026, serving a copy on TELUS. Bell’s additional comments are to be limited to responding to the new evidence with respect to impact of the new provisioning process. The additional comments must also speak only to the impact of that new evidence on the proposed interim rather than final relief.
- TELUS may file reply comments to Bell’s additional comments by 11:59 PM (EST) on Friday, 30 January 2026,serving a copy on Bell. TELUS’ reply comments are to be limited to the information provided in Bell’s reply comments.
Bell is required to submit its answer to TELUS’ final relief request by Tuesday, 3 February 2026, serving a copy on TELUS. TELUS is required to submit its reply comments by Thursday, 5 February 2026, serving a copy on Bell. Documents are to be received, and not merely sent, by these dates.
Sincerely,
