Subject: Application for costs award with respect to Broadcasting and Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2025-94 – Call for comments – A new approach to funding public interest participation in Commission proceedings

Dear Tahira Dawood:

On 15 December 2025, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission received an application for costs from the Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) with respect to its participation in Broadcasting and Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2025-94 - Call for comments – A new approach to funding public interest participation in Commission proceedings.

The purpose of this letter is to request information from PIAC regarding its application for final costs. To clarify and complete PIAC’s application for final costs, please provide responses to the questions below.

Please repeat each question in your responses.

  1. As required under section 66(c) of the Rules of Practice and Procedure, please provide an explanation for the difference of $1,548.28 between PIAC’s interim awarded costs of $8,548.75Footnote 1 and the final costs application for a total amount $10,097.03.
  2. Please provide an explanation that demonstrates how PIAC spent the interim costs of $8,548.75 it received responsibly.

PIAC is requested to provide the information requested above no later than 2 February 2026.

A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.
