Subject: Procedural request by the Alliance des producteurs francophones du Canada regarding the application by Groupe TVA inc. – 2022-1013-6
Carol Ann Pilon and Monica Auer,
Thank you for your letters dated 27 March 2026 (Alliance des producteurs francophones du Canada [APFC]) and 29 March 2026 (Forum for Research and Policy in Communications [FRPC]) concerning the application submitted by Groupe TVA inc. (TVA) (application 2022-1013-6) to remove conditions of service relating to programming for official language minority communities (OLMCs).
In your letters, you request that the Commission direct Groupe TVA inc. to file on the public record additional information deemed necessary for the analysis of its application. The APFC, in particular, argues that this information is required pursuant to the Commission’s obligations under sections 5.2 and 5.2(2)(d) of the Broadcasting Act, which require the Commission to gather information to monitor and assess its policies and to make available to OLMCs all relevant information on which those policies, decisions and initiatives are based.
TVA has five (5) days, that is, until April 07, 2026, to respond to this procedural request, should it wish to do so.
Pending a determination by the Commission on this request, Commission staff will suspend the processing of TVA’s application, as well as the related proceeding. The deadlines for the filing of interventions by groups representing the interests of one or more OLMCs and for the filing of TVA’s reply will be adjusted once the Commission issues its determination on the request.
A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of this proceeding.
